About Me
Hey! I'm Raahul. Currently the Director of Tech & AI at WebEngage.
I started coding at the age of 11. I loved playing games, and wondered how much fun it'd be to create one. That's when I started using a software called Game Maker created by Mark Overmars, and also learnt to code in C++ (ouch).
Later, during my school vacation, I learnt calculus from some University of Houston videos online. I became intensely interested in mathematics (a subject that I hated before). The crime show called Numb3rs made me even more interested in mathematics and algorithms.
My undergrad was in Electronics & Telecommunications. And during my college years, I also sold a few pieces of software online. It also gave me an excuse to hone my marketing and copywriting skills. College was also the time when I got my first guitar, and my first digital piano. Music became a new passion. Post graduation, I also learnt the flute and the violin for a few years.
After primarily being a freelancer, I joined my first startup in the EdTech domain as a Technical Architect. After that, my 2nd startup as the Director of Engineering. And the rest is history.
Today, I work on deep-tech problems, primarily creating differentiators. My areas of specializations are distributed architecture, eXplainable AI, and Reinforcement Learning. But truth be told, everything in Computer Science interests me in one way or another.
My primary passion in life has always been looking at it differently than anyone else, and solving problems creatively and innovatively. That's why I had so many diverse interests, because you gotta look at everything with your own eyes, and think about everything with your own minds, first, and last.
That's why I created Simple vs. Naive. To share whatever I've learnt with the world, so that anyone and everyone can live a far better life. And all of that by just looking at life differently.
